Agent banking is comparatively a novel idea in banking sector that can help the formal banking sector reach out to the marginal and remote community of the society through their agents, who will provide several banking services to the people locally. Now marginal farmers, small entrepreneurs and general people enjoy loan facilities in easier and faster manner through this platform. To reach Agent Banking services at the doorsteps of rural people Government, non-government and development partners shake hands together. Where traditional branch banking service providers are difficult it is very easy to ensure the same service in a cost effective manner through agent banking.

Scope

Bangladesh is a massively populated country located in South Asia which is bordered by India, Burma and Bay of Bengal. According to most recent statistics and data, Bangladesh is the eight-most populous country in the world and the population is much more than 160 million people. Eligibility or Criteria to become a EXIM Bank Agent

	Individual having trade license/Firm to be Bangladeshi National/Origin.

	Proposed Agent would have any business experience (minimum 01 year).

	Proposed Agent would be enough educated to understand the rules and regulation of financial services.

	Applicant’s age limit would be 18-65 years.

	Agent need to propose one/multiple prospective locations for Agent Banking Outlet(s).

	Applicant would be local resident of the proposed area (preferred).

	The person/firm would be financially sound and solvent.

	Applicant would have own/rented business premise.

	Proposed Agent should not be a loan defaulter/Bankrupt with any bank/financial institution and not penalized by any civil or criminal court.

	Not engaged with any subversive activities.

	Proposed Agent should have knowledge and ability to handle Technology based financial services.

	Person should have ability to meet commitment under adverse situation.

	Capacity to manage cash handling in Agent Banking Outlet.
