Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited is one of the leading private banks in Bangladesh with a strong presence in the foreign exchange market. The modern state-of-the-art dealing room at its Head Office provides the necessary support to its 24 Authorized Dealer (AD) branches across the country to handle foreign exchange business of its clientele. The Bank has retained its primacy as a market leader in buying and selling of foreign exchange and dealing with huge volume of Export and Import business.

Correspondent Banking
EXIM Bank has correspondent banking relationship with almost all the renowned International banks (13935 branches of 395 banks in 88 countries) around the globe. The correspondent relationships are made subject to observance of all related terms of compliance with great care. Moreover, it maintains the relationship with Asian Development Bank (ADB) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) for Guarantee service and credit line facilities.

A wide network of correspondent banks helps our customers in the following ways:

Our Import clients can have their import LCs established through us and advised by our correspondents all over the globe. As our bank has good standing in the international market, the LCs established by us is accepted internationally. Nonetheless, in case the suppliers want our LCs to be confirmed by the bank in the country of the supplier, our correspondents will be pleased to add their confirmation to the LCs established by us.

Through the wide range network of our authorized dealer branches, the Bank caters the foreign exchange needs of its clientele engaged in export and import business. Besides, the dealing room provides rates for conversion of all major currencies like US Dollar, Great Britain Pound, Euro, Swiss Francs, Japanese Yen, Canadian Dollar, Hong Kong Dollar, Australian Dollar, Saudi Arabian Riyal, ACU Dollar and ACU Euro.
Import Financing:
Import financing basically denotes post-import financing to the customers. The Bank executes Import Finance favoring its customers in the following modes:
Murabaha Import Bills (MIB)
Murabaha Trust Receipt (MTR)
Murabaha Post Import (MPI)
Izara Bill Baia (IBB) etc.
Export Financing:
Export business plays a dominant role in the economy of our country. The bank extends its services to the exporters by financing at different stages of executing export orders received from buyers. The financing related to the successful execution of export orders are:
Pre Shipment Finance and
Post Shipment Finance.
Off-Shore Banking:
EXIM Bank has been extending facilities to its good customers from its 03 (three) Off-Shore Banking Units (OBU) in the following modes:
UPAS ( Usance Bills Payable at Sight)
Discounting of Export Bills
SWIFT Screening:
The bank has been using SWIFT Sanction Screening module for screening all it’s incoming and outgoing messages to find out whether the transactions have any relationship with Sanctioned countries, entities, individuals, ports, vessels in line with UNSCR, OFAC, EU, HKMA etc.
Remittance Service:
The bank has a dedicated team for ensuring smooth operation and timely settlement of inward remittances received from its own exchange houses as well as from its correspondents.It also ensures the hassle-free service for outgoing remittances through its SWIFT module.
L/C Advising:
Having RMA with many banks, we often receive L/Cs from different banks in favor of the beneficiaries who are not our customers. We extend our advising service for that L/Cs in proper and compliant manner.
Guarantee Business:
The bank extends Guarantee Service on behalf of its customers favoring the local and International organizations/correspondents.
Central Trade Processing:
EXIM Bank extends support to all its Non AD branches through ‘Centralized Trade Processing Division (CTPD)’. The CTPD caters all kinds of Trade facilities in terms of Import, Export and Remittance etc. for the customers of Non-AD branches.
